Kostas, our guide, was amazing!! He was so
accommodating and enjoyable to be with. He is
passionate about his job and takes great length to
make it special for his clients. His extensive
knowledge of the areas made for great
recommendations. He was flexible enough to add a few customized moments into our trip that were very special to us. This four day tour of Greece with its sights and scenery is already incredible, but having a private guide like Kostas made it over the top fabulous. Prior to booking with Kostas and going to Greece, I did not read any reviews. After Kostas was so prompt and well spoken with about 20 e-mails prior to us leaving home for Greece, I figured that he was the real deal. After meeting Kostas and having him take care of us, Kostas was better than expected. Every hotel and restaurant that Kostas suggested, exceeded our expectations.
Kostas is well spoken in English and can adjust for any type of passenger and any personality.
You do not need to worry about the attention that Kostas pays to being a safe driver.
His very clean van is properly maintained and has new tires — I checked.
You will not need to worry about vehicle safety and maintenance with “Enjoy Greece Tours”.
Kostas knew about every village between the larger centers with the well known names, so he taught us about the rural Greek countryside and had us read short easy to read stories about the area that we just passed through, which is so much more than we expected.
After taking us to our very hard-to-find Airbnb accommodations in Athens, in the darkness AND finding the hidden key in the lock on the fence AND carrying our luggage up the stairs, we worried about what taxi would come to pick us on such a narrow street where it would mean to back-up for 2 blocks. Kostas asked his taxi-driver/owner friend to pick us up 2 days later and took us to Piraeus to the port when we caught our cruise ship.
WOW! Even when not getting paid by us, Kostas was still truly caring for his customers.
Being in a country that we don't understand the Greek language and with all of the extra layers of stress about proof of covid vaccinations and keeping safe, it was a such a relief to be with either Kostas or his taxi-driver/owner friend Spiros, as we knew that they would take care of us and that we would be safe, in ALL ways, when they were around us.
Our only complaint about Kostas is that he would never eat the evening meal at the end of the day with us. Kostas would stand outside the restaurant or sit on a chair near the door, making sure that the restaurant staff was giving us the best of service. Truly from our morning pick-up until we were booked into our hotel room at night, Kostas never let his guard down and was always looking after us to ensure our safety.
For the good or bad of it, one permanent take-away is that Kostas taught us to say a bad word in Greek which is so much easier to remember than a good word, and now my husband and I use that bad word to describe that person when we occasionally meet that type of person.:)
For what we paid Kostas for our 3 day in-land tour, it was a “DEAL”, and even a better DEAL considering that Kostas was flexible, that we did everything on our own timing and we got a private tour. Not for one moment or instance, did we ever feel that we were not getting our money's worth. We've been on many bus tours and although great, this private tour with Kostas was even cheaper hour per hour than a bus tour and worth so much more information and flexibility that we would have never seen on a bus tour.
Thank you Kostas, for giving us a “life-changing” 3-day tour to southern Greece.
